Trixie's passion was working in canine nose work. Her sense of smell was extremely acute: at just 16 1/2 months of age, Trixie Passed Her Odor Recognition Test ("ORT") for Birch on November 1, 2014.

She found the box that contained 2 Q-tip heads which were scented with Birch taped to the inside lid in just 40 seconds (she had 3 minutes to find the correct box):
